Meet this year’s organizers!
Yeng Kerng Tan
Cal Poly SLO ’18
Hello friends, my name is Yeng Kerng (feel free to call me Yeng or Y.K) and I am a rising junior at Cal Poly SLO majoring in Software Engineering, with an intended minor in Political Science/Sociology. I am an aspiring techie with an interest in software and its application in law and finance. I watch way more Netflix than I care to admit and I really like roti canai. I spend most of my waking moments deciding what to eat, before dedicating my remaining time to actually eating.
My experience in USAPPS has changed my life, so I’m glad to announce that I will be one of the core members of USAPPS 2016! I hope to see you guys there.
Pang Fei Chiang
Oberlin College ’19
Hey everyone! My name is Pang Fei and I am a Politics major at Oberlin College. I am a rising sophomore and I eat in a student-operated dining co-op on campus and I really enjoy it! I got to learn how to cook for over 35 members and it’s really not that difficult! On a lovely sunny day (which is rare in Ohio), I would probably be out taking photos of flowers (dogwood trees are my fave!).
I first attended the USAPPS workshop in 2014 and it was really helpful for my applications and I have been wanting to encourage other Malaysian students to study in the US since then!
Sara-Ann Yong
Mount Holyoke College ’18
Hi friends! My name is Sara-Ann and I’m a rising junior majoring in Architecture at Mount Holyoke College. When I’m not in the architecture studio pulling an all-nighter (or sleeping for 16 hours afterwards), I sing with my a cappella group, the Diversions, and binge watch Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix. I also have a *slight* obsession with baby pugs.
This will be my fourth year with USAPPS – I was a participant in 2012 and 2013, before becoming a facilitator in 2015. Being a part of the USAPPS community has been very fulfilling so far and has allowed me to meet amazing people, so I’m very excited to be giving back. I can’t wait to see you there!
